back in may, i wrote a lovely blog about american idol. then, blogger fing ate my blog. well, i haven't forgiven blogger, but here is the list. (and -- we're two and a half months away from next season!)
10. vonzell soloman & billy preston -- with you i'm born again
vonzell was pretty fantastic and i always loved billy. this was just a few months before he died.
9. constantine maroulis -- i think i love you
ah constantine. the haters were jealous of your smoldering looks. but i still love your voice!
8. jason castro -- somewhere over the rainbow
sweet. that song will always remind me of when dr. greene died on er.
7. clay aiken -- bridge over troubled water
i liked clay from the beginning. but who knew clay had this in him?
6. michael johns -- it's all wrong but it's all right
can't wait for his album. adorable and an amazing voice.
5. elliott yamin -- if you really love me
one of my all time favorite ai singers, proving that i'm not just in it for the looks. (even though he looks great with longer hair and fixed teeth.)
4. justin guarini -- let's stay together
ah, justin. i don't blame you for "from justin to kelly."
3. ruben studdard -- superstar
even though ruben totally stole the victory from clay, this was such a great song.
2. vanessa olivarez -- out here on my own
one of the most fantastic voices on ai, ever. but since she didn't have blonde hair and wear a size 2, america didn't know what to do with her. sings circles around the bland carrie underwood AND manages to understand the lyrics, too!
1. david cook -- the first time ever i saw your face
stick a fork in it, i'm done. despite the pseudo-creepy mom shots in the audience.
